Unidro reconfirmed its presence at key LNG Expansion Project in Qatar with the award of North Field South (NFS) Project in June 2024
In 2022, Unidro was selected for the North Field East (NFE) project by Technip Energies (EPC Contractor for NFE in partenership with Chiyoda Corporation). Unidro has been selected again for the North Field South (NFS) project which includes two additional mega LNG trains, awarded by QatarEnergy LNG to Technip Energies and their JV partner CCC.
Since the early stage of the Project, Unidro has been providing Technip Energies with the necessary support in making the previous experience and design available, and adjusting the solutions formerly developed for NFE to the new requirements.
The awarded units will be comparable to those provided for NFE:
- Complete sanitary water treatment package based on membrane bioreactor technology (MBR)
- Oily water treatment package
- CT side stream filter packages composed by 2 trains with a capacity of 5900 m³/h each
- Wastewater filtration package including multimedia and cartridge filters plus backwash wastewater thickening and dehydration
- Condensate polisher and carbon filters package, including two large trains of mixed bed exchangers and activated carbon filters

The joint venture T.EN CCC JV led by Technip Energies (T.EN) in partnership with Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC), has been awarded a major Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contract by QatarEnergy LNG for the onshore facilities of the North Field South Project (NFS), on May 16, 2023.
This award covers the delivery of 2 mega trains, each with a capacity of 8 millions tons per annum (Mtpa) of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). It will include a large CO2 carbon capture and sequestration facility of 1.5 Mtpa, leading to 25% plus reduction of greenhouse gas emission when compared to similar LNG facilities.
The expansion project will produce approximately 16 Mtpa of additional LNG, increasing Qatar’s total production from 110 to 126 Mtpa
